Accounting Errors: "File Access is Denied"

File Access Denied Errors: log_menu.dbf, Gldata.dbf, and Year-End Processing Issue

If you encounter access or permission errors in UBS, the steps below will guide you through adjusting your folder permissions and updating your data files to resolve the issue.

Before solving the issue:

  • Make sure to turn off your Windows Defender Firewall & Antivirus.

To solve the issue:

  1. Go to C:\ubsstk2015 and choose the company having an issue.

  2. Search and right-click on log_menu.dbf files.

  3. Go to Properties.

  4. Go to the Security tab.

  5. Click Edit, Add.

  6. Key in: EVERYONE.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Under Permissions for Everyone, tick Allow for all.

  9. Click Apply, OK.

  10. Go to C:\ubsstk2015\.

  11. Right-click on the UBSSTK2015 folder.

  12. Repeat steps 3 to 9.

  13. Open and log in to the UBS system.

  14. Open database.

  15. Run Upgrade Data Files.

  16. Go to Housekeeping, Index All Files.
