'Unable to read the backup.pay'

The reason the backup restored shows the wrong database is because the backup is in multiple folder directories.

In Access UBS Payroll, the backup and restore section is limited to 55 characters; if it exceeds 55 characters, the system will not be able to read the correct folder.

How to ensure the backup can be read:

  1. Go to the C:\Drive and copy the backup to a folder like C:\BACKUP\ (Please create a new folder)

  2. Rename all the related folders with a short name like C:\BACKUP\July2023\

  3. Then restore.

  4. Make sure you have installed UBS Payroll and not UBS Accounting

  5. The filename must be BACKUP.PAY. DO NOT change the name of this file.
