In the Main/Server PC:
Choose the required folder for sharing, right-click, and select properties.
In Properties, select the Sharing Tab.
Choose Everyone and ADD.
In Permission Level, change to (Read/Write).
Select the Share button to complete the setup.
Note: If you are using Access UBS Accounting, you have to share both UBSACC2015 and UBSSTK2015 folders.
For checking the IP address:
To check the IP address, go to Windows Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center, Ethernet, Details, and select IPV4 Address.
Note down the IP address.
In the user PC:
Go to the file explorer. In the address bar, delete its contents. Replace it with the Main/Server PC IP address. Example: \\192.168.0.59
The network will discover 192.168.0.59 has a shared folder UBSACC2015 and UBSSTK2015. Right-click on the required folder and select Map Network Drive. Select the preferred drive letter and click Finish to complete the network mapping process.
When a Problem occurs during mapping: Error: "Please remove spaces from the directory name to continue."
Please check the location of the shared resource for UBS. All folder names must not have spacing.
When logging in to the UBS setup
License:
Go to ADMIN, Administrator Settings, System Settings, and select Accounting. Change the server IP Address 127.0.0.1 to the Main/Server PC IP address. Example: 192.168.0.59.
Now select Inventory & Billing and also change the IP address.
Database:
To merge the company data select Create to create a new company.
Type in your company name select Client and select Map Existing Accounting folder and Map Existing Inventory & Billing Folder. Select the dotted button to browse down for the map drive created earlier and point to the database created in the Main/Server PC.
Notes:
Link both Accounting and Inventory folders from the Main/Server PC to connect with the client PC. If only use accounting, can link with accounting only.
This is the only way to do network sharing for server-client environment
