Error: 'BADDEBT.DBF has been corrupted' Unable to restore backup

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The 'Restore File Not Found' error occurs if the backup format is wrong. Ensure only one file exists, named BACKUP.ACC (Accounting) or BACKUP.STK (Inventory/Billing). If your backup is a copied UBS folder from C: restore it as shown below.

Before restoration:

  • Please ensure to do this in the Main/Server PC if you have a multi-user license, using the admin user ID.

  • Make sure to have your backup files/folder in the PC (either saved in the PC or plug the external drive).

  1. Open UBS Accounting.

  2. Log in to the system (Admin username & Password).

  3. Click Create (in modern view) or Create New Company (in classic view).

  4. Choose Standalone\Server.

  5. Key in Company Name (make sure to use a different name from the existing company). e.g.: ABC Sdn Bhd.

  6. Click Next, Next, Start.

  7. System Message will be out. Click OK.

  8. Go to the C:\ drive on your computer.

  9. Open the UBSACC2015 folder.

  10. Open the newly created company folder (folder named ABC_Sdn_Bhd).

  11. Delete all files/folders that exist in this newly created company folder.

  12. Copy all the backup files/folders from the drive that you have saved and paste them into the newly created company folder.

  13. Go to UBS Accounting and open the database.
