After updating to version 2026.3, some users may find that the Contribute to SKBBK option is not selected by default in Employee Personnel Details. As a result, SKBBK contributions may not be calculated automatically for eligible employees.
This article explains how to apply the SKBBK Tool to restore the default setting.
Step 1: Close UBS Payroll
Ensure UBS Payroll is completely closed before proceeding.
Step 2: Download the SKBBK Tool
Navigate to Access UBS Payroll & HRMS Downloads.
Scroll to the Tools and Utilities section.
Download the SKBBK Tool.
Step 3: Extract the Downloaded File
Locate the downloaded Skbbk.zip file.
Extract the contents.
The extracted folder will contain:
Tools folder
extapp.DBF file
Step 4: Replace the Required Files
Replace skbbk.exe
Open the Tools folder.
Locate skbbk.exe.
Copy the file.
Paste and replace the existing file in: C:\UBSPAY90\tools\
Replace extapp.DBF
Copy extapp.DBF.
Paste and replace the existing file in: C:\UBSPAY90\
Step 5: Verify the Setting

Go to Reports, External Applications, select Run SKBBK Patch, Click RUN to execute.
Go to Employees, Personnel Details, Statutory Info.
Confirm that Contribute to SKBBK is now selected by default for applicable employees.
How the SKBBK Tool Works
The tool is designed to restore the default SKBBK selection where required.
What the Tool Will Do
Updates the Contribute to SKBBK checkbox to be selected by default if it was not previously defaulted.
Allows users to manually deselect the option for employees who are not covered under the scheme.
What the Tool Will Not Do
The tool will not modify records where users have already reviewed and saved the SKBBK selection after updating to version 2026.3.
This behaviour prevents the system from overwriting intentional selections made for employees who may not be covered under the scheme.
Note: After the tool has been applied, users can continue to manage the Contribute to SKBBK setting manually on an employee-by-employee basis as required.
