Login Error on Client PC: Invalid Username or Password Despite Correct Credentials

Pre-requisite

  1. The IP address of the user PC should be the same as the Server PC.

  2. Check on the Firewall and Antivirus of the Server PC; it should be off.

To turn off the Firewall

  1. Go to the Control Panel on your PC.

  2. Select System and Security.

  3. Select Windows Firewall.

  4. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left panel.

  5. Under the section Private network Settings.

  6. Click the check box Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended).

  7. Under the section Public network location settings.

  8. Click the check box Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended).

  9. Click OK.

To turn off Password Protection

  1. Go to the Control Panel on your PC.

  2. Select Network & Internet.

  3. Select Network and Sharing Centre.

  4. Click Change advanced sharing settings on the left panel.

  5. Under the section Password Password-protected sharing.

  6. Click the check box Turn off password-protected sharing.

  7. Click Save changes.
