Updated over 2 months ago

If you are unable to run or complete an online update in Access UBS, it may be caused by a stopped update service, security software blocking the process, or corrupted update files.

Important: Please close the Access UBS application before performing the steps below.

Option 1: Restart Update Service and Clear Update Files

  1. Open Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, and search for "Access UBS Update Service" and start this service.

  2. Disable antivirus and Windows firewall in case the security feature has blocked the update from running automatically. You can open Windows Firewall from Control Panel, Windows Defender Firewall, and turn Windows Defender on and off to disable. Likewise, you need to open your antivirus settings to disable it.

  3. Open the file locations:

  • C:\UBSCPL\onlineupdate\ACC\

  • C:\UBSCPL\onlineupdate\CPL\

  • C:\UBSCPL\onlineupdate\IB\

4. Delete all the files, cache, and zip files in those locations.

5. Open Access UBS again.

6. When prompted to update online, click Yes to start the update.

If the update completes successfully, you can now continue using the latest version of Access UBS.

Option 2: Reinstall UBS Software (if the above does not work)

  1. Download the latest installer for Access UBS.

  2. Open Control Panel, Programs, Uninstall a Program, select Access UBS, and uninstall it.

  3. From your Downloads folder, run the newly downloaded installer to install Access UBS.

  4. Once you're done, please restart your computer.

  5. You should now be able to open and use the latest version of Access UBS without any issues.

After updating or reinstalling, you may need to reactivate your license.
Please take a look at the How to activate the license article.
