Accounting Inventory Transactions: Set formula to calculate quantity

This example demonstrates how to set up a user-defined quantity formula to automatically convert Unit of Measurement (UOM) values (e.g. TIN to LITRE) and apply it during item maintenance.

Example:
UOM: 1 TIN = 500ML
UOM: 2 TIN = 500ML x 2 QTY = 1 LITRES

  1. Go to Housekeeping [NEW], Run Setup, General Setup.

  2. Select User Define - Formula

    1. Insert the following formula for Qtye = ​​​​​​​(XQTY1 * XQTY2) / 1000

    2. Insert Xqty1 = TIN

    3. Insert Xqty2 = ML

    4. Click Verify and OK

  3. Go to Maintenance, Item Maintenance, Item File Maintenance.

  4. ​​​​​​​Add in Item No and details

    1. ​​​​​​​Unit Of Measurement, LITRE

    2. Unit Cost Price, 8.50

    3. Unit Selling Price, 17.50

    4. Mark Quantity Formula

    5. Click Save

  5. When cursor reaches Quantity, hit the arrow down key on the keyboard to pull out the dialog box Determine Quantity.
