When uninstalling UBS Accounting & Billing, you may see the following error:
An unexpected error is keeping you from deleting the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x0800700E1: Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software. (Malware)
This is caused by Windows Security flagging vfp9t.dll as a potential threat (Error 0x80070E1), which prevents the uninstaller from accessing or deleting the file. Follow the steps below to resolve this.
Option 1: Restore the file from Protection history
Windows Security may have quarantined the file. Restoring it allows the uninstaller to complete successfully.
Open Windows Security and click Virus & threat protection.
Click Protection history.
Look for a detection related to VFP9T.DLL.
Click the detection to expand it, then click Restore or Allow on device.
Once restored, proceed to uninstall UBS Accounting & Billing again.
Option 2: Add the install folder as an exclusion
If the file does not appear in Protection history, you can add the install folder as an exclusion to prevent Windows Security from blocking the uninstall.
Open Windows Security and click Virus & threat protection.
Click Manage settings under the Virus & threat protection settings section.
Scroll down to the Exclusions section and click Add or remove exclusions.
Click Add an exclusion, select Folder, then browse to and select C:\UBSSTK2015.
Once the exclusion is added, retry the uninstall.
⚠️Important: After successfully uninstalling UBS Accounting & Billing, remember to remove the exclusion you added to keep your device protected.
